Scheduled
A DNS modification will take place between January 16th and January 30th 2023.
Streaming DNS infrastructure for our live streaming player services will be moved from a Triton managed solution to AWS Route 53 service. This important change will help us to use listener geo-localization and fast track domain name resolution to the closest data center running our player services. In some areas, it will save hundreds of milliseconds to get to the stream.

This modification will affect all the domain names serving all live radio stations :
- playerservices.streamtheworld.com
- eu-playerservices.streamtheworld.com
- ap-playerservices.streamtheworld.com
- nl-playerservices.streamtheworld.com

Those changes can't be done overnight on each region since this is setup as a worldwide service. In order to minimize potential listener impacts, we will transition only portion of traffic in 6 steps. The changes will be made during the day in North America Eastern Time zone so that our Infra and Operation teams can fully monitor if there are any impacts on listeners.

Our team will be monitoring the situation closely throughout the scheduled maintenance.
